Hi group,
I am bit confused about when to use the route-map and when not to. For
example, while configuring the bgp dampening you can use either of the
following and you get the same result.
Router1
router bgp 100
bgp dampening route-map DAMP
!
route-map DAMP permit 10
set dampening 15 1000 3000 30
or
Router1
Router bgp 100
bgp dampening 15 1000 3000 30
My understanding is, both the above examples give the same result.
Do you really have any advantage of using route-map in such scenarios?
Is there a standardisation for this, so you know when to and when not to use
the route-map.
Thanks in advance,
RS
