That's for sure guys. If you wanna transport IPv6 over GRE on an IPv4 network than you need to configure IPv6 addresses both on the source and destination tunnel interface but IPv4 addresses for tunnel source and destination (e.g. tunnel source/destination command) and tunnel mode ip command. I tested this last week, it's working. The case you are talking about is indeed for IPv6 over GRE on an IPv6 network.
