Interface based WRED vs WRED IN MQC

Folks, as usual, doing some of these work books. Came across a WRED
question, where I am being asked to drop traffic the moment there are
atleast x packets in the output queue. The solution goes down to the
interface, configures random detect, and then programs WRED min & max
threshold.

Alternatively, I was thinking what if we have a policy map defined, and
inside class default program WRED.

policy-map RED
class class-default
random-detect
random-detect min x max y <drop prob>

and then attach this policy to the interface !!!

What would be the best practice ?

Thanks,
-JM
