With dot1q, it's a "tag" field inserted into the existing header. With ISL
it's an entirely new encapsulation header.

So the word "tag" refers to dot1q.

this is another wording thing.....
If the task asks to use a trunk that 'tags with VLAN header', is it dot1q or
isl For me they both tag with a VLAN header just in different position
within the frame....
The solution from IEWB4 Task 1.3 is dot1q; but I dont understand why Thanks,
