Hi,
As to your first question - Hotel Thon (Ex. Golden Tulip) was very nice and
not too expensive from what I know. About wondering around, Cisco is located
at an industrial area, and there is not much to do there - but you could
take the train to the city center its not too long ride and worth it.
Personaly in my first attempt I had, as you plan , to arrive early, but
eventually I think this was mistake, because when you are alone there, you
don't have a lot to do but to think about the exam and get stressed.
About the second question - In Auto-RP the Annoucing RP-candidate with the
highst IP address will be elected by the mapping agent as the RP. As what I
know of ... There is no other way to influence the selection.
What is the date of your exam, I am supposed to be in the same place at the
19/3.
Eli

Subject: Re: 13 Days to My First Attempt/Multicast Question
Hello lads,
I've got 13 days to go for my very first R&S Lab exam, a lot have been
stuffed into the chicky brain but still need more! More!! More!!!
More!!!! More!!!!! More!!!!!! More!!!!!!!! and ofcourse MORE!!!!!!!! To be
candid, I think I will need all the last minute tips and tricks I can get
from you all. For those of you who reply my mails about being mentally
tired, I appreciate you all, now I'm fully back, better and more confident
to face this monster once and for all.
To be honest, I think I will arrive in Brussels 2 days before the exam and
leave a day after. Could someone recommend a nice and "cheap":-) hotel close
to the exam centre, I might have to take a stroll in early hours of the exam
day, say leave the hotel around 6am in the morning and just wonder around
.... But wouldn't be lost though.
I need to ask one silly question though about multicasting (since some of
you would think I should have known this), how do we create a backup RP in
an Auto-RP multicast setup. I know with BSR you can use priority value, but
since in Auto-RP, the Mapping Agent run an election to select an active RP
for the multicast group. So to reiterate my question, how do we manually
influence the result of this election and most importantly create
backup-RPs?
Many Thanks
