Service policy input/output

Hi Gang,

Just wondering if anyone can clear my doubt about the direction of service
policy command.

Lets say the following is the scenario:

Internet----------eth0-------Router--------eth1-------SWITCH---------LAN

eth0---> connected to internet and eth1 connected to LAN.

If I create a service policy "ABCD" please clearify the following :-

1) When to use "service policy ABCD out" on eth0
2) When to use "service policy ABCD out" on eth1
3) When to use "service policy ABCD in" on eth0
4) When to use "service policy ABCD in" on eth1
