RE: how do you do the labs in workbook

Here is how I used the lab workbooks from the various vendors:

1. Schedule rack time with a trusted Rack Rental Vendor that supports
the exact topology and initial configurations required by the workbook
vendor. As I tried Rack Rental Vendors - I paid close attention to
SUPPORT that they provide, since support with some that sell you rack
time is virtually non-existent. "Oh sorry that happened - schedule
another day to make up for it." IMHO that is not adequate support.

2. On the day of my Rack Rental - simulate the actual lab environment as
best as possible and start configuring the sample lab.

3. At the end of the session - save all configurations to compare them
against the solution guide.

4. Go back and compare configurations and carefully read the narration
text from the solution guide.

5. Further research topics that are still not clear using GroupStudy and
other Internet resources. Remember to master the DocCD as you are
working through your sample labs as well. Try and use the sample tasks
as a springboard for FULLY researching particular topics.

Also - if you are stuck without a rack and dying to do a lab - why not
type your configurations into notepad and at the end of the day -
compare them to the solutions guide. This was my "poor man's" approach
on many an occasion, including while drinking heavily on the beaches of
Jamaica. One more thing - investigate Dynamips as another rack option.
