I've found one or two threads on this looking through, but I'm not
quite clear, though I think I have it. Could you folk agree (or
correct) the following take on it please? As I've been typing it out,
it came (I think) clear.
The MQC bandwidth statements - you can either declare them as raw
bandwidth, or percentage or remaining percentage.
1. Available bandwidth is initially the product of the bandwidth of the
interface * max- reserved-bandwidth - by default 75%. The
bandwidth of the
interface, may be the full physical speed, or, if the bandwidth
statement is used,
may be that figure instead.
2. If the MQC statement uses 'bandwidth percent' then this is applied to the
bandwidth of the interface and deducted from the Available
bandwith as show in
'show queueing x/y' to give a new figure once the
service-policy is applied.
3. On the other hand, if the MQC statement uses 'bandwith remaining percent'
then the bandwidth reserved actually relates to the Available
bandwidth figure
in 1. above.
I think this is right. How do I verify that the remaining percent
figure is doing what I think it is? It looks like 'show queue x/y' or
'show queueing int x/y' don't give me that information unless I'm
mssing something completely
cheers all
Danny
