OK - I see your point.
If you use type commnds like:
show spanning-tree
You might get a value of say 19 for a 100mb link
However, if you change the default pathcost to "long"
using the global configuration command:
spanning-tree pathcost long
Then that same interface's path cost is now 200000
As an example.
Hmmm...
Funny I was getting a little used to the long method,
since I've been getting a bit of hands-on practice
using Foundry Switches running Rapid Spanning-Tree.
