I just read the configs in my initial scan and check
my diagrams if they don't match, then I have to
determine if this might be an issue or something I
might want to speak to the proctor about.
Both NMC and IE, preach check your lab diagram and
ensure it matches your lab. If you happen to find a
problem along the way, so much the better.
If not, then you will probably run into issues, but
who is to say for certain what you may or may not
encounter?
I'm watching a COD from IE at the moment on Switching
and have thought of quite a few things that could
break things.
But hey, if you understand the technologies and are
familiar with how your rack should look and feel,
you'll be fine.
I don't think anyone has ever said they could not
"FIND" the faults, however, if one did not find them,
then they might not know anyway, right?
I don't know about you, but I've got bigger deltas to
work with than "the broken items" that may or may not
even be in a given lab.
I assure you there are other topics that will be.
How did you handle it?
Later -
BTW - As I am reviewing switching with the IE COD, I
want to remind everyone that NMC has an excellent COD
for Switching in their library - I think it is hosted
by Bob Sinclair if I recall and it is quite thorough
and covers some items not mentioned by IE COD. I do
believe the discussion by Bob Sinclair is the best I
have seen on the Native VLAN.
Also if one has seen the Soup to Nuts by our friends
at NLI, then may note that there are yet more issues
that are not covered by some of the CODs...
What I want to know is when the guys at NLI are going
to create CODs for their Soup to Nuts and Technology
Labs - they do "own" a few topics cold and have
excellent examples.
