Ian,

When I did the experiment, I used my 2514 router.
The documentation is made for all cisco's platforms.

Maybe not every platform needs my explicit Be <= 0
configuration. Maybe some platforms have Be==0 by default
when you run "shape peak 512000".

When that happens, "shape peak 512000" is fine.

But CBWFQ is supposed to be platform independent. I
need to read the Inside Cisco IOS Architecture book again.
I thought CBWFQ is supposed to have same behavior in all
routers.

The only question left now is that I said I think
the "Average" part of "Target/Average", 300000, in your
config is not in use.

How could the "300000" part effect the shaping queue
or the software (bandwidth) queue?

John
