Hello Every Body,
R3 has s0/0 (T1 link) with two PVC configured on it 301 (to R1) and
302 (to R2). Now if I configure 302 as below to slove the problem of
packet drop on R3 because of slow speed of R2 which is 64Kbps:
map-class frame-relay DLCI_302
frame-relay cir 64000
frame-relay bc 8000
frame-relay be 4000
int s0/0
frame-relay traffic-shaping
frame-relay interface-dlci 302
class DLCI_302
now if next requirements says that users behind R1 have started facing
problem after you configured above, solve this problem???? now
sloution given in the solution guide is:
map-class frame-relay DLCI_301
frame-relay cir 1536000
int s0/0
frame-relay interface-dlci 301
class DLCI_301
Now my question is that total speed is 1536000 bps on s0/0 on R3, from
this you have already assigned 64000 for PVC 302, how he is assigning
1536000 to PVC 301, is this correct? Because if cir is 1536000 for
301 the router will try to transmit at this rate on PVC 301, how will
it manage to send 64000 on 302, if there is data to be transmitted on
both PVC at the same time?
In my opinion the cir on 301 shall be: 1536000 - 64000 = 1472000
Any help is appreciated.

Mohammad Zahed Saeed
