IP Forward-Protocol & IP Helper-address

Hi Group,

I am hoping someone might be able to help me with regards to the above commands.
I know that it is enabled on both the routers that are configured with IP helper-addres and directed broadcast. I think the IP directed broadcast command is enabled on the interface where the server(s) reside while the IP helper- address is enabled on the interface where the clients are.

There is a lab (No 8) in the IEWB (Ver 3) that uses multicast to forward broadcast but the solution also mentions that IP helper address can also be used but that it does not scale very well.

The help that i require is that, assuming there are about 4 routers between the clients and servers, what else would be required to be configured on the transit routers?

Also, where can i go to read up on this? DocCD is very basic.

Thanks

Deji
