RE: Basic question Wildcard mask

Heheheh... I hope you haven't been shot down TOO badly. People have
questions about things all the time. Sometimes very basic things that just
haven't clicked yet. And it's certainly possible to pass the written
qualifier without having a clue how to subnet, or at least not very well
(remember, the written is multiple guess!).

Sometimes people are a bit quippish in their responses (which may cause
others to be silent and lurk), but I think the better idea for any time you
feel a question may be very basic and don't want to be completely shot
down.... Demonstrate that some effort has been made to look things up!
It's one thing to simply not understand a concept. It's a whole different
issue to not know and just want someone to give a quick answer.

Long ago, I gave up letting the blood pressure rise about such things...
But when the answer takes all of about 5 seconds to look up, that can be
frustrating to see people ask questions like that. (This, by the way, is
not necessarily one of those examples!)

But yes, we should all be courteous. At some point in time, every single
one of us was getting started and likely asking similar stupid questions.

When people make efforts to answer their own questions though, I think
(IMHO) that makes everyone else feel better about helping out.

Just my thoughts, but if nothing else, hopefully some of the snips will be
deflected from you for speaking and go to me (grin).

I think is why so many of us lurk instead of asking the questions we need
to.
Please let us have a little courtesy to one another.

If something annoys
you, let it wash over you, ignore it and keep your blood pressure down at
the same time.

I suppose I should take my own medicine here, but having been at the
receiving end of such emails on this group I feel the need to make a
statement here.

I guess I'll get shot down.

How come you are studying for the lab and do not know how to calculate a

Hi, i need know
how thw wildcard mask is calculated. example

R1---------------------------R2
EIGRP 1

R1 loopback:
1.1.1.0/32(loop 0)
1.1.1.1/32(loop 1)
1.1.1.2/32(loop
2)
1.1.1.3/32(loop 3)
1.1.1.4/32(loop 4)

R2 loopback:
2.2.2.24/32(loop 24)
2.2.2.25/32(loop 25)
2.2.2.26/32(loop 26)
2.2.2.27/32(loop 27)
2.2.2.28/32(loop 28)
2.2.2.29/32(loop 29)
2.2.2.30/32(loop 30)
2.2.2.31/32(loop 31)
2.2.2.32/32(loop 32)

Question:
Configure eigrp AS 1:
Configure 2 networks statements on R1 and R2 to advertise all interfaces
loopbacks except loop 4 on R1 and and loop 32 on R2.

How I calculate the
wildcard mask to EIGRP?.

Thanks a lot.
AA
