BGP route selection Procedure

I happens to work in
a big Network giant where we have BGP deployed to get control over OSPF.
Approx 15,000 + router divided into 4 region.

Now my question is, although
eBGP has an AD of 20, why it goes for BGP's routing selection criteria when it
has multiple entries of routes via iBGP (OSPF) and eBGP.
It should take eBGP
in the forwarding table, but instead it goes for BGP route selection criteria
and choses the best path through lowest med value (iBGP), as we have
configured BGP deterministic-med.
