still trying to find a proper solution:
activate Accounting & Logging
e.g
TELNET (R1) -->>--- fa0/0 (R2) Loopback

for Interface F 0/0 there are options:
a) ip accounting
   only for OUTPUT packets
b) ip source-track
   only for TRANSIT packets
c) flow-sampler-map
   I'd say accounting is done but not logging
d) simple permit ACL with LOG
   is it too easy ?

Any idea ?
