Hello guys!
I just wonder.. in the very little compnies the budget is very limited for
the edge network equipment. So the quesiton is.... when it is just enough to
place ASA on the edge if there are not some very complicated requirements
and when it is needed to put ASA and the router infront of it..
Before I was told once that PIX and ASA do not support traffic shaping...
that's why it is always important to put the router infornt of them. So I
just want to ask... is this shaping really always so necessary or in some
cases I just can do not use it... if policing is configured on the provider
edge?? Are there some other great reasons to place router infront ASA if
advanced QoS is not needed?
thanks.
What can you tell from our experience??
