Probably what i will do just bypass the HDLC connection between R4 and R5 and see how it works out. The first lab is not mentioning any HDLC connection between the two routers but i think some labs might require. Some people said use Aux port connection as serial never try that one before. any idea?

If you use another FR subinterface you may have problem with OSPF interface type or traffic shaping; if you use bridging you may meet STP issue; and if you are using tunnel, tons of questions will go to you (routing loop, IGP metric, BGP next-hop...). Anyway, we are going for CCIE lab, so why not try all of them out if possible? Maybe it will take you a few days just to make the thing work, but you will gain a lot from that as well.
