Just one small thing in reference to Xiangling post:
As part of the matric computation the smallest bandwidth of the path is
taken onto consideration, the delay metric is acumulated along the path.

the reason why I was trying to increase the hop-count of specific prefixes
was that I was trying to stop the router advertising them without using any
filter list: this was the request. So i thought to set the hop-count to max
which means unreachable.
I don't know if it is possible to do the same with the EIGRP compound
metric; I tried to set the metric to the max possible value but still those
prefixes were advertised. So I guess that EIGRP has not such a thing as
