The original post mentioned he wanted to connect his client to Active
Directory so DNS will handle the former WINS responsibility. I just think
Michael doesn't have his client settings or his back-end setup correctly.
Of course he's wanting to connect to AD through his firewall through an ACL
and static NAT, which doesn't sound good to begin with. ;-)
Michael, why not setup VPN for the client to connect into your network? You
will actually simplify some of these issues and make it tons more secure.
Just an idea...
