Sorry for being quiet for so long - i've been visiting Brussels to take the
lab..
Anyway, for the BGP question...
One way to force BGP to initiate peering, without adding static route
consists
of the following steps:
1) Add a loopback with a subnet of a peer (so it's now "connected")
2) Configure local PBR to divert packets from going out this loopback,
and redirect them to PIX inside interface.
I'm also testing a couple of other ways :)
