It's also documented correctly on the DocCD if you know where to look.

I want to apologize for being so terse with that last post. Here is the
exact DOC-CD link example that is in error:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios122/122cgcr/
fipr_c/ipcpt3/1cfmulti.htm#wp1003511
Cisco may have fixed this in future revs of docs - but I have certainly
not seen it if they have. The only places I have seen this feature
properly documented are in the materials of www.internetworkexpert.com
<http://www.internetworkexpert.com/> and www.netmasterclass.com
<http://www.netmasterclass.com/> ; I would be willing to bet the other
excellent CCIE-prep companies that frequent this list are all over it as
well.
These kinds of things are exactly why NetMasterClass emphasizes a "Proof
By Debug" approach to configurations. You want to learn to efficiently
prove you have made the configuration correctly before you assume you
have gained the points. If you do not have time in the actual lab to do
the proof by debug - NetMasterClass teaches you to do the investigation
while you have the time during your pre-lab studies so that you can
trust your configuration when you make it on lab day!
These are the types of issues that crop up in the exam that cause
students to say "I know I should have scored 100% in multicast - but I
only received a 50% - the exam is flawed!" Note in this case - it was a
flaw in the documentation - not the exam that caused the issue.

so if this is an error on the doc cd then where can we find solid info
on it? and yes, I am feeling a little more insane everytime I hear of
such things...

You have just discovered one of the most famous errors in the DOC-CD -
congrats!
Why doesn't Cisco fix it even after receiving what must be hundreds of
comments?
Perhaps it is to keep CCIE candidates on the verge of insanity....

Hi First..thank you all for your answers in my previous question.
Regarding IE lab 8 task 5.5 ..the solution shows that ip multicast
helper-map command was configured on both ingress interface of the 2
routers. But while looking on cisco.com I found a configuration example
where that command was configured on the egress interface on the second
router. Are both config correct ..just different to do things? any
feedback? Thanks!
