The older 4FE cards may work, but they are not the part that ships with
the IDS's and are not the card you get when you order an IDS-4FE.
I know it's more than just the chipset, it's a different PCI form
factor, and there may be performance issues with the PCI bus, etc. My
guess is that if you plugged it in it would work, but if you started
pushing 100 Mbs on each port, you may run into problems.
I really have no idea though, just speculating.

Rik,
That's the problem - I do NOT have enough time on my hands!
I concur with David, the PIX-4FE-66 definitely works in the 4235 I have.
How about the standard PIX-4FE (82558 chipset vs. 82559). Has anyone
confirmed that the PIX-4FE works and there are no limitations? I think
I
have one that I am going to play with, but I was hoping someone else
already
spent some time with these. :)
thanks,
Brad Ellis

It's the same as the PIX-4FE-66. I pulled one once and compared and
they
were identical.
Don't know what the chipset is.

Does anyone know the chipset on a IDS-4FE-INT? (4 port FE card for an
IDS
sensor)
Is is the same card as the PIX 4FE card? (That card has 4 82559s)
thanks,
