Hi Guyz,
I am facing a problem in IEWB Vol I Lab 13 - Task 4.7; if anyone has come
across it, please let me know the solution.
Area 1 has two ABRs (R1 and R2), it is required that R5 which is a router
behind R1 and R2 in Area 1, has to choose R1 as gateway for some
destinations (say VLAN6, VLAN7). Restriction is not to use ip ospf cost,
bandwidth, virtual-link, stub or nssa. I am using distance command with
source ip and access-list at R5. The advertising router is 150.1.1.1 (I have
verified it from sh ip route 139.1.7.0, 139.1.6.0). I am aware of the
difference between next-hop and advertising router with reference to the
distance command.
Even after applying this command, the distance at R5 remains unchanged, but
when I destroy the neighbor relationship to the 2nd ABR, the distance
command reflects and it changes the distance for the selected destinations.
Does anyone have any idea about it?
The show outputs at R5 are:
Rack1R5#sh run | b router ospf
router ospf 1
router-id 150.1.5.5
log-adjacency-changes
network 139.1.15.5 0.0.0.0 area 1
network 139.1.25.5 0.0.0.0 area 1
distance 109 150.1.1.0 0.0.0.255 VIA_R1
Rack1R5#sh ip access-list VIA_R1
Standard IP access list VIA_R1
10 permit 139.1.6.0
20 permit 139.1.7.0
Before destroying the neighbor relationship to 2nd ABR (R2)
Rack1R5#sh ip route ospf (extracted VLAN6 and VLAN7 routes only)
