So assuming I'm not completely stupid and manage to successfully configure
my routers running EIGRP and with unique loopbacks...is there just no need
for the router-id in EIGRP?

It must have a use or function other than just good housekeeping and
stopping, shall we say, less sophisticated engineer's form screwing
themselves...

Am I off the mark or missing something?
