I run 12 instances on a Dell Precision M65 with Dual Core 2 Ghz and 4GB
of memory and no hiccups at all. I use the IE configs, optimize the
idlepc values and away I went. Brian has done a great job with these
configs and made everything fairly simple.

Memory primary and processor second and then adjusting the idlepc is the
way to go.

Windows 64 can address more memory than 32 bit. I use both and while I
prefer linux..I've found no great advantage over using linux. Having a
dual core proc is an advantage though if u want to use your pc for
something other than dynamips.

Okay. I really appreciate your quick response. I have had several
people tell me that Linux is superior to Windows when doing CCIE
practice labs because windows can't handle that amount of devices. I was

hesistant using windows especially with the "possible new exam format".
I need to purchase a new laptop and I am stil unsure AMD over Intel or
vicer versa. I know without a doubt that 2GB is the min requirement.
That goes undisputed.
