Hi GS!

I'm using IOS Version 12.4(9)T1! I try to config OSPF neighbor between R5
and FRS on non-broadcast network but can not!

R5#sh run | begin router os

router ospf 1

 router-id 172.16.105.1

 log-adjacency-changes

 area 10 nssa

 redistribute rip subnets

 network 172.16.35.5 0.0.0.0 area 0

 network 172.16.50.5 0.0.0.0 area 10

 network 172.16.105.1 0.0.0.0 area 105

this is Fas0/0 connect to FRS (172.16.50.20):

R5(config-router)#do sh run int fas0/0

interface FastEthernet0/0

 ip address 172.16.50.5 255.255.255.0

 ip ospf network non-broadcast

 duplex auto

 speed auto

end

and result:

R5(config-router)#neighbor 172.16.50.20

OSPF: Neighbor command is allowed only on NBMA and point-to-multipoint
networks

R5(config-router)#do sh ip os int fas0/0

FastEthernet0/0 is up, line protocol is up

  Internet Address 172.16.50.5/24, Area 10

Process ID 1, Router ID 172.16.105.1, Network Type NON_BROADCAST, Cost: 1

Transmit Delay is 1 sec, State DR, Priority 1

As you can see, network type is NON_BROADCAST but I can not enter neighbor
command on R5!

Then, I try to enter neighbor command on FRS, strange thing happen!

FRS use IOS Version 12.2(15)T14

The first: check ospf configuration:

FRS#sh run | begin router os

   router ospf 1

   router-id 7.7.3.1

   log-adjacency-changes

   area 10 nssa

   redistribute connected subnets

   network 7.7.2.1 0.0.0.0 area 10

   network 7.7.3.1 0.0.0.0 area 10

   network 172.16.50.20 0.0.0.0 area 10

The second, type neighbor command on FRS, it's ok!

  FRS(config-router)#neighbor 172.16.50.5

And then, check OSPF configuration again, the neighbor command disappear??
It can create neighbor with R5, but when I reload all, I can not create
neighbor!

FRS(config-router)#do sh run | be router os

router ospf 1

 router-id 7.7.3.1

 log-adjacency-changes

 area 10 nssa

 redistribute connected subnets

 network 7.7.2.1 0.0.0.0 area 10

 network 7.7.3.1 0.0.0.0 area 10

 network 172.16.50.20 0.0.0.0 area 10

Is this a bug of IOS or I did something wrong?

Thanks!
