I am not sure about the Backup RP. But I have an idea:
   
  Configure the primary RP using auto-rp. and configure the backup RP statically.
  Dynamic RP will override the static RP. If the primary RP fails, static RP (which is the backup RP) will take over. Not sure I am correct...
