One way you could use the BPDU Filtering feature in production would be
to enable it globally on the switch - then set ALL ports to PortFast.
Now - when you do decide to plug a switch into one of the PortFast ports
- your switchport will automatically come out of PortFast and the BPDU
filtering capability will also be disabled. This would be exactly what
you want for that port!
I would personally never do this - but I suppose we should learn it
nonetheless.
Please note that one of the tricky things about BPDU Filtering is that
it can be enabled at the interface level and globally. To further
complicate matters - it can be used with or without PortFast. You get
different results with the different combinations and you could actually
end up creating a loop if you are not careful.

Hi GS
What idea is behind bpdufilter? :
(From DocCD)
If a BPDU is received on a Port Fast-enabled interface, the interface
loses
its Port Fast-operational status, and BPDU filtering is disabled.
Hmm filtering is disabled when receiving BPDUs?
I'm confusing....
