Hi Ken,

1. Sometimes the downstream may be the root switch, all you need is to
configure one end only, check to see which switch is root then you will have
2 options:
A. To configure the port priority on the root
B. To configure the port cost on the non root switch

2. As far for running any retesting I think that cisco will record which was
your root switch at the time of your exam imho.
