Thanks for the reply Vince, I have never actually maually disabled
flowcontrol when running QOS (manual QOS or AutoQos) on my switches and
have never had an issue . I wonder if flowcontrol gets disabled by
default when you config mls qos ? Sorry but I haven't got a switch to
test this out on.

Thanks, Dave.

 for the reply vonc

You have to enter "mls qos" for the qos to work at layer 2. If you
don't enter the command, the switch will still take the qos commands
that you type at the CLI, but they won't do anything. Therefore,
flowcontrol must be disabled when actively using qos on the switch.

Can anyone tell me if you definitely need to disable flowcontrol send ,
flowcontrol receive at interface level when you enable auto qos on 2950
/ 3550
switches. Config guidelines on CCO mention this when running mls qos ,
but no
mention if you run auto qos in the config guidelines.

I've never disabled the flow control in the past and haven't had any
problems
either.

I don't believe the command actually does anything in this instance

Any other views ?.

Dave.
