Subject: tftp network boot image

Hi,

as far as i have revealed from the docs, booting from a TFTP (not
rommon) server is possible on 2600.

As for 3640 it's not possbile without an IOS image in flash, since it
does not support TFTP by rommon.

I tried to boot the 2600 with config-register set to 0x2102 and also:

boot-start-marker
boot system tftp c2600-is-mz-123-10.bin 192.168.2.5
boot system flash
boot system rom
boot-end-marker

But this does not help. From the docs i read it's looked into nvram and
then taking the configuration
from the startup-config.
But i have to delete the flash image first in order to recieve this
behavior.

Is it possible to boot over tftp with an image in flash?

Frank
