I am looking for some documents regarding to the Power over Ethernet and
length of cable.
One of VoIP engineer told me about 6 month ago that
"if I use POE for the VoIP phones and if it's going over long distance
100f or more, I have to count for the minor loose of power on the CAT6
wire'. So If I require static 7W, I need to configure the switch for 8W
or 9W of power consumption.
I am trying to verify this for my power calculation and length of cable.
Does anyone have insight or documentation to support or not support this
statement.
Thanks..
