Subject: RE: Port Security and HSRP
Ubaid,
Some time ago I tried two solutions which worked:
First Solution:
On each router
standby use-bia
On each port switch
Portsecurity secured address <mac address of the routers>
Second Solution:
On each router
Standby mac-address <static mac-address> (different for each
router)
On each port switch
Portsecurity secured address <mac-address configured on the
routers>
Regards,

I know this topic has been discussed but I am looking for correct
solution
(which really works) using standby virtual address
Going through the past posts you can do this
interface FastEthernet0/17
switchport access vlan 100
switchport mode access
switchport port-security
switchport port-security maximum 2
switchport port-security mac-address 4000.0000.0001
interface FastEthernet0/18
switchport access vlan 100
switchport mode access
switchport port-security
switchport port-security maximum 2
switchport port-security mac-address 4000.0000.0001
Found duplicate mac-address 4000.0000.0001.
I think I am going nuts almost 2 am in the morning
Help Guys
Ubaid
