Dan,
for RMON to send a trap you do not have to configure snmp-server enable
traps. Search the archives, this topic was discussed in the past.

Subject: rmon traps revisited
All,
Here is yet another topic i have had trouble nailing down a concrete answer
for. Again, i appreciate your assistance.
With rmon, do we need to issue the "snmp-server enable traps" in order for
rmon to send a trap? (assuming rmon is configured to issue a trap when an
event is triggered) Or will it send a trap independently of other snmp trap
settings. I know we need to specify the snmp trap receiver with "snmp-server
host x". Will that suffice?
Thanks,
Dan Bliss
