I was hoping they'd throw a FastHub 124 into the mix just to mess with
everyone's head! :)

I heard that they will bring back the big iron 1900s now we are all in a big
trouble.

You are right though, if someone is at CCIE level, it SHOULD not be a
problem. (defined by Webster's as "ought to but not necessarily will")
Maurillio is the content lead for R&S, not the head proctor. Tong Ma, as I
understand, IS the lead proctor for everything. And other proctors are in
other equally important roles along the way..
As you note, dead horse. It SHOULD not make a difference.

Why would you be screwed if there were 4 switches instead of 2? Do you
think 2 more switches would really throw that big a of a curve ball for
people who are at the CCIE level? I sure hope not - that wouldn't say much
for the CCIE cert...not to mention the actual implementations that only have
2 switches! :)
Regardless, the friggin CCIE R&S head proctor assured me that the 3550s are
being REPLACED with 3560s. Can you say dead horse dead horse dead
horse!?!??!

I guess it goes back to the idea of simply be prepared. If you prepare for
four switches and there are only two, it's not that bad. Whereas if you
prepare for two and there are four, you may be screwed (or at least very
surprised).
Overpreparation isn't a bad thing! On the other hand, updating your rack(s)
of equipment may be. ;)

PS. All of the ProctorLabs racks have four switches now.
PPS. And there are more of them this week!
PPPS. If we're wrong on the quantity, you'll just be over-prepared for
switching concepts! ;)

HI All
At the risk of being flamed again, I wish to pass on this email that I
received from cisco. (see below).
It looks like people in the CCIE program themselves are giving out
conflicting information.
As Tang Ma, from Cisco, tells me that there will be 4 switches in the LAB
after the Novemeber upgrade?

Hello Gavin,
Yes there will be 4 switches in the lab after the November upgrade and it
will be a combination of 3550 & 3560 but we are not releasing the numbers of
each type being used.
Regards,
Tong Ma

said that the 3560 switches were being added. But their is no plan yet to
remove the 3550 switches. Therefore there will be 4 switches in the Lab. Can
you please confirm that this is true?
