No, you can not combine two PCMCIA flash cards of 16MB to get a 32MB image.
You can put two 16MB flash simms on the mainboard for a total of 32mb.
However, I believe the biggest PCMCIA card that the 3640 will recognize is a
16MB flash card (although I could be wrong, but Im 95% sure). If you do not
have the internal flash simms to support the 32MB IOS, but you do have the
appropriate DRAM reqs, you could always boot off a TFTP server. :)

Subject: OT - Booting 3640 router from PCMCIA flash cards [bcc][faked-from]

Does anyone have experience booting a cisco 3640 from PCMCIA flash cards?

Can you tell me what is the largest size PCMCIA card that will work with the
3640?

Also if I were to use two 16MB PCMCIA flash cards can I install a 32MB IOS
on it or does the IOS treat them as two separate file systems?

Thanks in advance.
