RE: Lab Rereads

There are both (script + human). The script is used to verify connectivity
(TCL most likely) and to verify things that are ABSOLUTE in nature. E.g. if
you were told not to have any static routes, and "show run | in ip route"
gives output, then you lose points. The script is supposed to measure
things that are simple in that nature.

So you may find that a script can determine you lost 'x' number of points
before a human touches it. Now, if the script comes back and says you lost
50 points, even though a human does read it, I would likely say that there
wouldn't be much effort because there isn't grey area there! Anything not
absolute though is looked at by a human.

Does this imply that the first time your exam is marked it only goes through
the script? I was under the impression the proctor does this every time an
exam is marked.

Yes... I agree with Brian. I work with one of the proctors. He stated that
when they are regrading the exam, they are actually reading the Lab manual
that you had during your exam, instead of just reading an answer key, typing
a show command, and looking at the correct output noted on the answer key.

I was very happy to hear this, because when you ask a proctor over and over
on a question, and make sure they are interpreting the question the same way
you are, then you get it wrong because of a computer. With a regrade, you
get a human to think about the question again, hopefully the same way the
proctor and you did to begin with.
