The CCIE Security lab is not going to 3560's. That's probably what he
was referring to.

The announcement by the CCIE team specifically states "replacing".
I quote:
"Effective November 13, 2006, CCIE Routing and Switching labs will begin
replacing the Catalyst 3550 by introducing the Cisco Catalyst 3560
Series enterprise-class switches."
I can imagine a transition period where both 3550 and 3560 switches
reside in the same rack, however I must assume we are tested on either
ONE pair of switches.
The only clarification can be made by the CCIE team. They can be reached
