There's no such thing as a 3624 router. If you are a using a 3640 or 3620
router, try changing your flow control setting in your terminal window.
Some older routers have issues with no flow control set. First try software

flow control (XON/XOFF) and then try hardware flow control. Make sure your
terminal settings are also 9600, 8N1 as well. Let me know if that does the
trick.
