Hello guys.
Who have some experience with modems??
Sorry that this question is not from the r&s track but from the real life.
Well I have to configure for one our large customer the modem from the
router.
R1-Modem-Internet. It is the wavecom modem. I would devide my question into
parts....

1. Wavecom is not in the list of the Cisco autodiscovered modems. So I can't
use modem autoconfigure discovery command. I have to use some string in
modemcap. Where do you take this string usually from?? (Should it be
somewhere in the doc for modem??, is it possible to use some string of the
standard modems??).

2. How could I identify which parameters to use?? Like stopbits,
flowcontrol... etc?? It depends from the provider settings or there are some
"the most commonly used??"

I can telnet to the modem from the router but the async interface can't go
up. It is in down/down all the time. I have spent more than a day on trying
all variants. But no success....
Any help very very and very appreciated...

Thanks,
