In this configuration, I don't think you need
sparse-dense since R5 is the hub. Therefore you do
not need to go more than one hop to get to the RP.

I agree that the static RP entry on R4 should not be
necessary.

Finally, I would make sure you are running PIM on the
Loopback0 of R5 and that this address is being
advertised via the IGP so that R2 and R4 can ping this
address.

Verify proper RP mapping with the "show ip pim rp
mapping" command.
