Subject: Passed in San Jose Yesterday
After months of preparation and much stress, I was very happy to learn
of my successful attempt at the CCIE R&S lab yesterday. This was my 2nd
attempt at the lab, my first attempt being back in May. After taking a
few months to review the misc stuff that seems to trip up most people, I
was able to get through it. I would like to thank the members of this
group for taking the time to answer all of our questions as we fine tune
our understanding of the concepts. I would also like to thanks the
people at IPEXPERT, for their great practice labs. I don't think the
2nd lab was any easier or harder than the first attempt, but just having
gone through the experience once already seemed to help. Creating a
plan of attack and then executing that plan on lab day is key. Pacing
yourself is also very important, don't spend too much time on any one
question, you can always come back to it at the end. I found myself
with almost 3 hours left to check everything at the end. Thanks to
those who posted the TCLSH scripts for testing connectivity. What a
great feeling it was to run that script on every router and see PING
replies from all interfaces in the lab. That was a great time saver.
Now its time to drink a few beers as I get my life back.
- Chris
