        This should help answer your question.

        Rack1R5#show debug
        SNMP:
          SNMP packet debugging is on

        Rack1R5#
        Rack1R5#sho run | include snmp-server enable trap
        Rack1R5#sho run | include rmon
        rmon event 1 trap IETRAP owner config
        rmon event 2 trap IETRAP owner config
        rmon alarm 1 lsystem.56.0 60 absolute rising-threshold 1 1
        falling-threshold 0 2 owner config
        Rack1R5#conf t
        Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
        Rack1R5(config)# rmon alarm 1 lsystem.56.0 60 absolute rising-threshold
        1 1 falling-threshold 0 2
        Rack1R5(config)#
        %RMON-5-RISINGTRAP: Rising trap is generated because the value of
        lsystem.56.0 exceeded the rising-threshold value 1
        SNMP: Queuing packet to 132.1.33.100
        SNMP: V1 Trap, ent rmon, addr 132.1.35.5, gentrap 6, spectrap 1
         alarmEntry.1.1 = 1
         alarmEntry.3.1 = lsystem.56.0
         alarmEntry.4.1 = 1
         alarmEntry.5.1 = 29
         alarmEntry.7.1 = 1
        SNMP: Packet sent via UDP to 132.1.33.100
        Rack1R5(config)#

        I will also add a note that the "snmp-server enable trap" command is not
        needed in the solutions guide. This question actually comes up a lot.

        HTH,

        Hi There

        Question ask to configure a router to generate SNMP trap when average
        CPU untilization reaches the linit.
        and then send trap to 132.1.33.100

        Config ---

        Rmon alarm config
        ramon trap config
        snmp server host 132.1.33.100 IEtrap

        My question is, do I need to configur "snmp-server enable trap" command
        here or not. IE solution does not include this command

        You help will be highly appreciated

        Thanks

        Hafi
