I've had much confusion over this topic. I think ip mroute is excluded
from the no static routing requirement. Mroute is not an ip route it is a
multicast route. Moreover, I am no longer convienced that static routes
are excluded from the lab. I think the specific requirements for each lab
are explained within the lab exam. So, if your lab instructions do not
forbid static ip routing, static routes may be required to complete the
exam.

There are several other ways to confrigure the router to take a certian
path without configureing statics. ppp serial links, default gaateways,
irdp, default network, summary addresses, default routes ip ospf network
point to multipoint. Lots of nice loopholes that i assume cause the
proctors to make the ccie so very difficult.

  the specific address not a default route.

  But, as I understand static routes are not allowed in ccie lab.
  Is there any other way of disableing RPF checking for Multicast.
