Tony -

There are a few options that you can use here.

1. The easiest would be to configure the static RP for R2 on all
routers, and use ip pim spare.

2. You could use the auto-rp option and configure the mapping agent on
R1. With this, you will need to not only configure the ip pim nbma
option on R1, but also the auto-rp listener command (to allow the dense
mode for the mapping and auto-rp). Remember though, that the mapping
agent and RP transfer their information in dense mode. So, if dense
mode is disallowed, then this would not be the choice.

Hi,
I have the following set up in my lab.
R1 is hub (sub int s0/0.23)and R2,R3 spoke connecting through Serial
int.R4
is connected to R1 over ethernet.
Senario :
a-config multicast on R1,R2, R3 and R4.
b-R2's lo0 is RP and joing group 232.1.1.1,232.2.2.2,232.3.3.3 but
acting RP
for 232.1.1.1/2 only.
c-Spoofing shout not happen on R4 lo0.
d-Dense mode is not allowed.
I am strugling how shall I solve this ,Do I use auto-rp but dense mode
is
not allowed and nbma mode issue at R1 ,Please if someone can help?.
