Hi,
I assume you have anabled VTP pruning. The logic as as follows:
In one of the workbook labs, one of the tasks states:
1. although it does not have it locally assigned ensure that SW1 receives
traffic for vlan 8 over Fast0/13
- The switch should receive traffic for vlan 8 on port f0/13 (with VTP
pruning enabled). Therefore you have to remove vlan-8 from the
prune-eligible list on this trunk.
2. traffic for vlan 8 should not be received over any of the other trunk
links.
- VTP pruning will prevent the switch from receiving traffic for vlan 8 as
it it not locally assigned.
Let's look at the solution.
under int f0/13 you configure...
switchport trunk pruning vlan 2-7,9-1001".
This means that vlan 8 is not eligible for pruning on f0/13 therefore the
switch will receive traffic for vlan-8 on this trunk.
