Hi Guys.
I have this question bothering me, and well I'm asking it with a lot of
shame, maybe something really basic is missing from me here.
Say that you have 2 Trunks connected to 2 Switches, by Spanning Tree, BPUD
are sent, Some Switch would be elected as root and then some ports would be
elected as Root Ports or Blocking in the Designated Switch.
F0/13 DF==Trunk==RF F0/13
F0/14 DF==Trunk==AB F0/14
DF: Desg FWD
RF: Root FWD
AB: Altn BLK
The whole life of Spanning-Tree from my point of vies is by the exchange of
BPDU, if so, Port F0/14 which is Blocking at the other end and Forwarding at
the Root, still send Broadcast/ Flooded Traffic/Multicast Traffic Right via
the unblocked port, if so, then why if those so many paranoids BPDU are sent
every 2 seconds by default by non-blocking port could not modify some flag
to make the port more intelligent and recognize that the remote end is
ending in dev/null ports??
That would release a congested switch with a Broadcast Storm a little more
right?
Or maybe it does that, and I'm just asking something that I've had not read.
Thanks
Victor.-
