Stefan -
Can you forward your configurations? If you don't have bgp on R3, and
the next hop is showing as R3....then, I would have to assume that you
are doing seeing the next hop through igp, or, you are doing some
redistribution.

Subject: Confused by simple bgp??
Hello,
R1-R2-R3-R4
I have ebgp between R1 and R2. Also there is ebgp between R2 And R4. R3
doesn't have bgp on it. There is igp between all the routers. R2 reaches
R4
throuth R3. 204.1.5.0 network is advertised by R4. R2 receives the route
and
advertises it to R1.
R1 sees the next hop to 204.1.5.0 as the netxt hop router - R3. I just
can't
understand WHY??
Any thoughts??
