You're correct - jumbo frames were not a requirement - I was mentioning
it as an added benefit.
My main point was that when you say PoE - you're likely also saying
QoS! And huge dedicated buffers are a big benefit here. VoIP generally
means low bandwidth stuff, so the classic bus is likely fine (depends on
what else is in the chassis). Heck - it better be fine because even
though the 65xx is fabric enabled the lookups are headed for the PFC
over the classic bus (unless you go with a DFC).
Either way, this is likely a L8 issue. You're looking at a trade off
between extra/dedicated bandwith or signifigantly better QoS and lower
cost.
